High blood pressure accounts for nearly a quarter of all deaths worldwide and it is believed to affect one in three of adults in the UK. The problem is, the exact cause of 90%+ of high blood pressure (or hypertension) cases, can not be determined by doctors. More worrying still, over half of people do not know they have high blood pressure, because often there are no obvious symptoms.
In today’s fast paced society ‘Emotional Stress’ is a key component in contributing to this problem, which means your body is basically constantly being flooded by stress hormones. These constant elevated hormone levels because of work, relationship pressure etc, adds up and up and can eventually contribute to a high blood pressure (BP).
If you have been diagnosed with a high blood pressure from your GP, it’s all very well them prescribing medication, advising you to reduce your salt intake etc, but often this is not enough to lower your blood pressure significantly, as the external pressures of life still build up each and every day, but there is no release valve – this is when hypnotherapy for tension and stress reduction can really help.

When your blood pressure is continually higher than the recommended level, this elevated blood pressure is called hypertension. Some of the best ways to reduce this is to change your diet, learn some relaxation techniques, participate in sport, and/or undertake some relaxation exercises such as Yoga.
