Our Mission
The goal for us is to deliver therapeutic excellence to every single person that walks through our door.
Trained in the Person Centred approach (also known as Client Centred), I am also able to integrate more directive approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, if so desired. I work with clients on both a short or long term basis in a wide variety of areas.
As a Person Centred therapist I believe in fostering a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment for my clients. I am experienced in working with both male and female clients aged 18 – 89 years.
In each case, I have found that the ‘here and now’ principle, pioneered by Carl Rogers, successfully encourages my clients to explore and create positive change for themselves, on our journey to developing their inner most potential.
This non-directive method of therapeutic support offers heightened personal insights and promotes an increased self-awareness for the client during our one-to-one counselling sessions.
Travel has always been my passion in life and I have been very fortunate to have taken extensive trips all over the world. In addition to this, I have lived and worked in the USA, France and the Middle East.
I originally studied at the University of Florida, USA, but upon returning home to the UK, I found my calling in helping people and promptly enrolled at Salford University to undertake a Masters degree in Psychotherapy & Counselling.
I have a love of travel, film, animals and am very much happiest by the sea. Being an artist I love to paint, draw and sketch in various mediums and any free time I get I will be working towards a new exhibition.
Although I was originally a Loughborough University science graduate, I have since studied hypnotherapy firstly through the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH) at Kings College and latterly at the Liverpool Hope University (Chrysalis).
Each of my solution focused treatments are ‘custom designed’ for each client to reflect the individuality of the client and presenting problem, which is why I experience the success I do. I believe that a professional therapist should be educated in all treatment approaches and use as many as needed to address each client’s concern.
Through my extensive training I can help you to overcome many of the problems and symptoms that might be holding you back, or stopping you from leading a happy and fulfilled life. It might be that you simply want to stop smoking easily, without the hassle of withdrawal, or that you need to resolve some social anxiety that makes you feel lacking in confidence or unable to engage people. In any case, your problem will be helped in a caring and non-judgmental way, all with a view to resolving your symptoms as quickly as possible.
I completed the three peaks challenge in under twenty four hours with my friends last year, raising money for the Springhill Hospice in Rochdale – a centre for palliative care. The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales, within one full day.
I am an avid sports fan, who watches literally everything on TV, as well as being a regular participant when I get the chance – with more of a focus on squash, football and tennis as I’ve got older. I follow Liverpool FC (for my sins!), am a keen angler and a regular cinema goer, preferring foreign and indie flicks, ideally with a sci-fi theme.
